Summary

High summer temperatures in Tucson can push older HVAC units to their limits. For this project, we replaced an aging rooftop package unit with a new 14 SEER2 system, ensuring more consistent cooling and reliability for the property. The upgrade was needed to provide better efficiency and to address ongoing issues with the old equipment.

The Work

Removed the outdated unit and disposed of all old equipment
Installed a new 14 SEER2 rooftop package unit with single stage constant torque blower
Fabricated and fitted insulated sheet metal transitions with mastic-sealed duct joints for improved airflow
Added a gas sediment trap, new shut-off valve, new PVC trap with clean-out and safety switch, and updated electrical connections
Supplied and fitted a 1" pleated filter designed for this base

The Outcome

The new system delivers more reliable and efficient cooling, even during peak summer heat. With properly sealed ducts and upgraded controls, the building now benefits from steadier airflow and fewer maintenance concerns.
